ACCEPTANCE IN BLACK AND WHITE.....

I hope that no one reading this post is easily offended. Any issue dealing with race is usually a touchy and rather uncomfortable subject to discuss. These are my personal opinions based off of my own experiences and observations.  I am sharing them with you in hopes of sparking an intelligent examination/debate on this very controversial issue. I am very interested in your feedback , so please leave me a comment below.
With that being said…
Have you ever noticed the difference race plays in the acceptance of women in the adult industry? Not only porn stars, I’m talking about strippers, nude centerfold models and basically any woman that uses sex or sexuality to earn her living.
From my observations it seems that the white community not only accepts… but embraces women in the adult industry. This is clearly evident in their appearances in music videos, television and movies, as well as the many high profile romantic relationships between white women in the adult industry and mainstream celebrities.
On the flip side, It is abundantly clear that the black community does not wholeheartedly accept women in the adult industry crossing over into mainstream stardom… and those that do experience some crossover fame(while extremely commendable and successful in their own rights) got there because they funded their dreams themselves, and not because they were necessarily accepted into the mainstream world.
What I mean by that is, when you reach a certain level of success in the adult industry e.g.; Heather Hunter, or more recently Pinky… you have the financial freedom to basically do what you want. You want to open an art gallery… you do it. You wanna drop a mix tape… you do it. No need to wait for acceptance, money talks and thats the one thing EVERYONE accepts! But those are two examples of extraordinary women in the game. This particular post is not about extraordinary women, it’s about trying to understand the reason why white people seem to go out of their way to open doors of opportunity to women in the adult industry… while black people seem to slam those doors in our faces.
Generally speaking, we don’t see the crossover form pornography to mainstream happen with black porn stars. Yet it seems like every other day some random white porn chick falls out of the sky and lands into stardom. Sasha Grey landed a starring role in “The Girlfriend Experience” as well as a multi-episode appearance in the HBO dramedy “Entourage”. Porn stars Jesse Jane and Katie Morgan also appeared on Entourage, and they both have hosted quite a few other cable television shows as well.
I have yet to see one black pornstar appear on ANY television show or movie. We watch Entourage too! F*ck it they can have Entourage, we’ll take True Blood!  How many of y’all would love to see my girl Lethal Lipps playing a blood sucking vampire? I know I would tune in.
And as far as celebrity/adult entertainer relationships in the black community, FORGET ABOUT IT! It aint happening…and the few times it has happened (publicly) there was an overwhelming negative backlash on the celeb and he was labeled “A SUCKA” or “CAPTAIN SAVE A HOE”. And the chick was labeled a “GOLD DIGGER”, or plain old “HOE”.
Why do you think this is?
I believe that black people as a whole generally suffer from what is called “Crabs-in-a-barrel” mentality.  We hate to see one of our own getting ahead. Instead of supporting that person or trying to study how they got to the top so that we ourselves can follow suit, we just hate and try to pull the person back down. Instead of encouraging someone to move ahead, we often try to “Knock them back down to reality”.  Anytime someone takes a bad situation and turns it into a positive, I feel that persons hustle should be respected. Why wouldn’t you want one of your own to make it to the top? Why are we as a race generally so negative and hateful towards each other?
If a chick goes from stripping in the club, to being one of the most recognized and highly paid mens magazine models/video vixens… why when this chick does an interview on a local radio station, is she attacked and put down by the punk ass radio show host? And yes I’m speaking of the infamous Buffie interview.
Y’all might be laughing, but the ish isn’t funny at all!  Black people we really need to unite and stop all this negativity and hate amongst each other!  We already struggle with the whole “Light Skin is better than dark skin” bull ish that stemmed from the house n*gger vs. field n*gger ish from the slavery days, why do we need more prejudices within our own race? If you look at all the other races… black people are the only ones that lack unity. And it seems like we’re constantly looking  for more ways to divide ourselves.
Earlier I spoke on Adult entertainers dating celebrities and how that’s pretty much non- existent in the black community. It wouldn’t be fair of me to make such accusations  without providing some examples to validate my opinions. So here goes;

I’m just gonna stop there… It’s getting late and I have a feeling I would be here all damn night!!
Please understand that I am in NO WAY putting anyone’s business on blast, this ish is public info and NO SECRET.  The marriages and or relationships were all legal and documented, or at the very least confirmed by both parties.
So why is that white men could care less about what society thinks of their significant other? Why do black men care so much?
LIST OF BLACK PORNSTARS THAT  MARRIED OR PUBLICLY DATED CELEBRITIES
Ummmm??? Damn I can’t think of ONE…. can you??
    Go ahead….. I’ll wait.                                     *crickets*
Can’t think of one can you? That’s because  *drum roll*  THERE AREN’T ANY!!!!
There are however,  a handful of  black celebs who have attempted to marry or date former strippers or nude models.(and by DATE I mean that they were seen in public on red carpet events or award ceremonies arm & arm and when questioned about relationship the celebrity publicly confirmed that there was in fact a relationship to confirm.)
    So here is the revised list;
BLACK CELEBRITIES WHO DARED TO PUBLICLY WIFE OR DATE A STRIPPER OR NUDE MODEL icon wink ACCEPTANCE…in Black & White
    1. Probably the most PUBLIC example is the Louis Vuitton Don himself, Kanye West and his highly public relationship with former stripper turned model Amber Rose. The couple dated for a minute (And might I add, looked FABULOUS doing so) but people had alot to say about Kanye’s love interest. Here are a couple of quotes from the very FINE Amber herself in an interview with Complex magazine.
    2009BETAwardsArrivals2GcW5 EH8 yl ACCEPTANCE…in Black & WhiteAmber & Kanye @ 2009 BET awards
“ Yeah, they label me a bisexual freak stripper that f**ks Kanye on a daily basis. You know, Amber Rose, the f***ing bisexual, dyke, freak, whatever the f**k.”
“Kanye knew my life, so when it was, ‘Oh Kanye, do you know she was a stripper, that she used to date girls?’ he was like, ‘Tell me something I don’t know!’”
    2. Rapper/Actor Mos Def  wed former Canadian stripper Alana Wyatt after knowing her for 3 days. This is not the best example because the b*tch went and wrote a tell all book. *WOMP, WOMP*
mosdef ACCEPTANCE…in Black & WhiteMos Def & Mrs. Mos Def
    3. Rapper/Actor Ice T. Okay.. T’s wife Coco ISN’T black… but she is a nude model. And f*ck it,  I’d have better luck trying to find Tupac than trying to find examples of valid “Relationships” between Black celebs and  women in the adult industry!
My point is… In the black community, it just isn’t acceptable to date, marry or pro-create with women in the adult industry.  It isn’t respected, it isn’t cool, and is pretty much frowned upon by everyone.
    My question is… WHY?
Who says you can’t  make a hoe into a housewife?  Why does Snoop Dogg not love us hoes?  Why can’t a b*tch get a dollar out of 50 cent?
Hell, I know for a fact black celebrities enjoy the company of porn stars, strippers and video models in private… but why is it so socially unacceptable? Why is that in the black community adult entertainers can get in the after party but not the red carpet? Why are we “Jump off” material, but never “Wifey” material? Yet in the white community porn stars are getting wifed up by celebrities right and left? Black men, are you going to let your homies’ opinion of who you date keep you from loving whoever makes you happy??
Earlier I digressed from speaking on Playboy Bunnies in order to finish my Listings of celeb/adult entertainer unions. So now, let’s talk about Wabbits! *Elmer Fudd voice*(lol, couldn’t help myself)
Speaking of ish being ACCEPTABLE by whites and not blacks let’s talk briefly about PLAYBOY before I end this blog entry.
I loved watching “The Girls Next Door” on E! At least, I did when it was Holly, Kendra and Bridgette. It was definitely entertaining to watch 3 young, hot, sexy, beautiful blonde’s pretending to be romantically interested in a man old enough to be their GRANDFATHER!
But what really tripped me out about that show were the episodes when the girls’ parents and families would come to visit. My right hand to God the families of these girls were PROUD that their daughters were sleeping with an 80-something year-old man who also happened to have 2 other live in girlfriends!! No ish, It was all good times and memories every visit. No shame, no disgust… they weren’t embarrassed that their daughters posed nude for a living, and none of the girls’ fathers were ashamed that “daddy’s little girl” lived with a man more than twice his age and that she was given an “Allowance” to be his girlfriend.
Can any of you see that EVER happening with my people? Negative. Can you imagine 3 black girls being paid to live in a mansion with an old ass millionaire playboy? Now imagine Big momma, Madea,Paw Paw and Uncle Jr. all coming to visit the mansion and seeing their baby girl get felt up by a living fossil. COMEDY!! OMG, I would love to be a fly on the wall for that dinner!
In summation, it seems that white women in the adult industry become “Famous”, while black women become “Infamous”. I just want someone to break it down for me and really explain why that is? Personally, I just believe it’s another example of how black people as a society continue to hold ourselves back with ignorant stereotypes and prejudices. Stop looking for ways to keep each other down and start looking for ways to build each other up.
I say, f*ck what they say… Make a hoe into a housewife! Fall in love with a stripper!
Most importantly, try to spread positivity into the atmosphere. You get what you give. Let’s support our women, remember “It aint where your from it’s where your at”!! Evolution is a FACT!
I really would like to hear your thoughts. Want to add something to this discussion? Whether you disagree or agree. Tell me what you think!!http://sexykellystarr.com/acceptance%E2%80%A6in-black-white/
